Plot Summary

Thomas Gant runs to the escape elevator holding onto the new imperial weapon. He reaches the top, and deals with two storm troopers. Suddenly, Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors come down in their ship the moldy crow. The three rebels head towards the atmosphere, but before they escape, the Omega Red activates the only functional AA guns. The laser cannons force Jan to make a landing in one of the surrounding canyons. Thomas Gant prepares to head out, and bring down the AA guns.

Initial Comments

Asi-Asi. This level does very well, but doesn't quite measure up. The author shows potential (What with his rain effect and all), but the level isn't quite up to par. I'm hoping for a little more in the next Omega Red (Especially considering I am Admiral Nishka!).

When I played the first Omega Red, I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Man, what I expected was not what happened! This mission was a good mission overall, but I thought it was not as good as the original.

Level Design

Not great. This was my biggest problem. Some great architecture existed at the beginning, but then gave way to square rooms and long corridors. I'm not sure what this covers, besides architecture. The architecture was good, but I think there was some HOMing in places. I don't remember.

It was a real big place to explore, which I liked. Plenty of places to look around and get lost in.

However, it was kind of hard to imagine it on a 3-D kind of way. For example, I'd like to think of a level as more or less like a building. one story right above another. I realize that part of the place was in a mountain, but the floors seemed to be all over the place. It must have been murder tunneling out that place.

Level Dynamics

Muy Bien. Gracias, Sr. Jacob. Rain, showers, and watching a useless lump of rock become a poweful weapon ammunition package. Big wow here!

On the other hand, there were the under water sections. They were fine, but the exhaling sound was just playing in the sector. Even when the mask was off and you were out of the water, the exhaling continued.

This is where the author shone. I don't know what Stalker was thinking, but this had a lot of new stuff. It had Mailocs! It had an ATAT 3do! It had a few new enemies, but my favorite was the ATAT pilot. Finally, it had a new briefing, and music!!!!

I think the two AT-ST's were very over the top. I don't think that anybody would start firing that powerful of weapons inside a base. Think of the consequences (i.e. cave in/ collapse) Pretty good weapon and enemy placement, otherwise.

Level Experience

- Pretty good. A plot that ensnares you from the beginning, especially if you played the first Omega Red.

- Nothing missed if you don't play this mission.

- Overall, I like the level. Good choice of colors, etc.

- The level experience was good. A sequel to Omega Red, I did not think too much of it but now I see that the author put some effort into this level. I recommend this level to anyone.
