Designed as part Showcase level, part trainer, Boing! is the latest work from AlexG. This level makes use of magnetically sealed walls and hidden targets, but the author notes that this won't be the kind of work he will always be doing for Dark Forces (Files/Showcase Levels).

AlexG has uploaded his Compression Rifle, a weapon patch that replaces the Stormtrooper Rifle (Files/Weapon patches).

Casey Neumiller (a.k.a. "xwing_original") has uploaded a ZIP of the 3D files from another LucasArts classic, X-Wing. Casey had uploaded these files with the hope that somebody might be able to convert them to a more DF-friendly format. However, as they are components of the original game, they'll only be up for the weekend. If you wish to obtain the files at any time after this weekend, I'd suggest you contact xwing_original via email.

Oton "Fish" Ribic, best known for his work on Dark Statistics, has authored and uploaded a new Dark Forces mission. In Among the Shadows: Fortress Quadrigon, Kyle Katarn is sent after a dangerous double agent with the objective of stopping the spy's activity permanently. The ZIP file weighs in at 2.91 MB and has received an excellent rating of Four Death Stars (Files/Missions/A-L).

Also new to DF-21 is Blaster Bolts! by Casey "xwing_original" Neumiller. This patch enhances the graphics of the original games bolts and offers red, green and blue bolts (Files/Weapon patches).

A week after Oton "Fish" Ribic surprised us all with Among the Shadows: Fortress Quadrigon, DF-21 now welcomes another unheralded arrival: Girl Eaten by Stormtroopers by Jason Nash. In this oddly-named level, which was constructed in under two hours, Kyle Katarn finally gets a break; you play the Emperor's ex-girlfriend (who, not surprisingly, still has yet to be mentioned in any of the films) and must escape the Imperial Ewok Laboratory. The ZIP file is a very light 14 KB and the mission has received a rather lowly rating of One Death Star. (Files/Missions/A-L).

DF-21.net is going to be free of the tyrannical clutches of NoMonthlyFees before very long. The new server package is arranged and we'll be moving there in a couple of weeks, depending on such things as getting the domain name transfer arranged.

Nothing will happen for the next week or so, but the site may go offline for a little while during the move. The forums may be closed for a couple of days as a shiny brand new BB will be set up on the new server; more details on this later.

When the site does go offline, df-21.org will remain available, as will the forums at Jabber the Hutt's Palace for those of you who need your fix.
