Special thanks to the folks who informed me that GobBFP2 was corrupted. It turns it was because of some of the BM files I added. That's fixed now. GobBFP2 is dead.. long live BFP2X!

-All skins should now work properly
-Extra BM's removed (they weren't really necessary anyhow)
-Adds BFP2.1 built-in
-Organized alphabetically by character name (beginning after default list of JK skins)
-Attached old readme file for BFP2

==================
BIG FLUFFY PACK 2X
==================
file name: BFP2X.gob

I accept no credit whatsoever for this modification.

All skins and other text files are the creations of their
respective owners. Used with permission from JKMAG.

Designed for the full version of Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight.

Intended for Multiplayer ONLY.

Will work on the MSN Gaming Zone (www.zone.com) if Patch Commander
(www.jediknight.net/commander) is used.

=============
Introduction:
=============

"Big Fluffly Pack" began as a good idea someone had to put together all the skins commonly
used on the 'net for JK into one zip file. JKMAG, a JK player group, adopted the pack as their official skinpack, required for all members. Overtime, and with updates, it became unwieldy. JK editors came to realize that putting the skins into Gob or Goo container files
was much neater than simply slapping loose files into Zips and requiring installation files.
Removing was a big problem, and incompatability with other patches often resulted.

I saw this and wished to correct it, although it did take much more time than I had originally planned. It's simply the biggest addon skinpack ever made for JK.

I took the JK version of BFP2 and BFP2.1 and combined them and removed some errors,
as well as some unnecessary MOTS textures.

I fixed the green mat error on the Veamon skin too. ; )

Big thanks to all those who created the skins, and those who made the original packs available,
as well as of course LucasArts for the great game.

==============
MOTS Textures:
==============

Skins removed from BFP2X: Ithorian, Dark Undead, Noghri, Dark Trooper.

In the future, if I ever decide to make a MOTS version of BFP2X, the removed skins
will definately be included.

These MOTS additions were not the fault of the skin authors, but
simply an oversite on the part of JKMAG. All of them can still
be used in the MOTS BFP2 (GooBFP2.zip).

Keep in mind there was never anything wrong with the MOTS version of BFP2 (gooed), and you
can still use that until the one time I decide to make BFP2X MOTS. It just lacks the BFP2.1
skins (which will someday be added).

***

In my opinion, this is something that should have been done
in the first place.. but oh well. Hopefully any future editions of
BFP will follow suite.

The only difference between using this GOBBED patch and the original
BFP2 is that in order to use this patch all players must have it.

However since JKMAG requires all their members to have BFP2 ANYWAY,
then this shouldn't be a problem.

=====================
HOW TO RUN BFP2X.GOB:
=====================

To run, simply make a new folder under your JediKnight folder.
Call it "bfp2" or something like that and then go to MS DOS Prompt
(the dos box) and type (from your jediknight dir):

jk -path bfp2

and it should load up perfectly.

An nicer way, is to use Patch Commander (an essential item for any JK fan). The final
version of Patch Commander can be found at:

http://www.jediknight.net/commander/

It has a simple interface and WILL allow you to use Gob/Goo patches on the Zone (just be sure
you enable "Use patches on the Zone" option).

============================
Note on the Gobbing Process:
============================

BFP2X was gobbed using Conman, the simplest and best overall container manager file for JK
yet produced.

This gobbing process does a few things:

- saves memory.. now your 3do, mat, misc, etc folders aren't cluttered
with hundreds or even thousands of files, plus the gob itself takes up less memory
than all those loose files. No installation fragments either.

- easy to use.. now if you choose to run it, you can. Just one gob,
nothing else to worry about. If you decide not to use it, fine,
don't run the gob. It's easy to remove... just delete the gob
if you don't want it anymore. Works great with Patch Commander.

- smaller file.. the zip is smaller, so more people will be able to
get it more quickly, spread the fun around.

The Purpose of gobbing is just to make it easier to use and less
bulky on your hardware file system. If you prefer not to use gobbed
files, then by all means don't use this and get the original BFP2
(available from JKMAG's website: http://www.jediknight.net/jkmag/)

Before anyone ignores this patch, I suggest they try it out
and see how they like it compared to the "old" one. ; )

Thanks.
